CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established company operating in the Retail Sector, with head offices in the heart of Larnaca, we are seeking to recruit an Internal Accountant to join their growing team. As an Internal Accountant, you will primarily be responsible for maintaining accurate and on time accounting records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and statutory requirements. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar, and holders of, or those working towards any relevant accounting qualification such as the LCCI or CAT are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess 2+ years of previous accounting experience, ideally gained in a retail environment, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English are a must. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience, along with flexible working hours  

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Prepares financial reports and ensures the accuracy of accounting records.
• Ensures compliance with applicable statutory requirements and regulations.
• Reconciles vendor accounts, supplier statements, and bank statements.
• Processes accounting transactions accurately and within the required deadlines.
• Maintains the confidentiality of financial information to protect the organisation’s operations and preserve customer trust.
• Handles invoices, expenses, and payments, and issues cheques in accordance with the instructions provided.
• Coordinates and communicates with external parties, including auditors and local authorities.
• Reconciles sales proceeds and carries out the necessary checks to ensure that established procedures are followed correctly.
• Supports the smooth and efficient operation of the accounting department.
• Carries out other accounting-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• University degree in Accounting or a CAT or LCCI Higher qualification.
• Approximately 2+ years of previous accounting experience, preferably within the retail sector.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong time-management, analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Excellent computer literacy, including practical experience with computerised accounting systems.
• Excellent written and spoken command of both Greek and English.
