As part of this ongoing growth, we are constantly seeking to strengthen our teams. Currently, we are recruiting Technical Purchasing Officers to join our Technical Purchasing Department.
Role Overview
As a member of the Technical Purchasing team, you will utilize your business, technical, and educational background to support the daily supply needs of our fleet worldwide. Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, arranging the timely delivery of stores and spares on board vessels, placing and monitoring purchase orders, evaluating supplier performance, and controlling invoices.
Responsibilities

Develop a strong understanding of company procurement procedures, purchasing standards, and systems during the probationary period.

Coordinate the timely and cost-effective purchasing and delivery of stores, spare parts, and technical requirements for assigned vessels.

Monitor outstanding orders and enquiries, ensuring timely follow-up and completion.

Handle and coordinate special and urgent purchases in line with company procedures.

Verify invoices through the purchasing system and support monthly accruals.

Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and instructions.

Identify and implement improvements to purchasing processes, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Keep up to date with developments and best practices relevant to technical purchasing.

Build effective relationships with vessels, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

First 3 months: Up to 6 vessels, developing capability with appropriate support.

After 6 months: 7 vessels independently at Purchasing Officer level.

Advanced level: 8 vessels, demonstrating strong purchasing capability and efficiency.

Senior / High-performing level: 9+ vessels, reflecting outstanding performance and portfolio management.
Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Shipping, Maritime Studies or in a similar field

A Master's degree (MSc) is preferred

Previous experience in a similar position will be considered as an advantage

Basic accounting knowledge

Knowledge of procurement procedures and purchasing standards

Excellent command of the English language

Proficient user of the MS Office suite
