Chief Accountant

The Chief Accountant is responsible for leading the Company’s accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with applicable accounting and tax requirements, and effective financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Company’s accounting activities in line with applicable accounting legislation and regulatory requirements.

• Ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and on time, with the required supporting documentation.

• Manage the month-end closing process within agreed internal deadlines and quality standards.

• Manage the accounting of tangible and intangible assets, inventory accounting, and the annual inventory count process.

• Maintain and manage all accounting registers.

• Manage payroll-related accounting and reporting, including salaries, taxes, social contributions, payslips and expense claims.

• Manage tax accounting and calculations, including VAT, corporate income tax, deferred tax and other applicable taxes, and ensure timely submission of tax returns and payments.

• Contribute to the preparation of transfer pricing documentation.

• Manage the accounting of treasury investments.

• Manage daily reconciliations of safeguarding accounts.

• Provide guidance to the accounting team and other departments on accounting-related matters.

• Provide accounting and tax-related information to auditors, tax authorities, regulators and other relevant institutions, and support the CFO during audits and reviews.

• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, monitor recoverability of debtors and assess bad debt provisions.

• Contribute to budgeting, accounting controls, accounting policies, system improvements, process optimisation and automation.

• Prepare the Company’s annual financial statements and coordinate their timely submission to the relevant regulatory and statutory authorities.
