The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a European non-profit, Science- and Technology-oriented Educational and Research Institution, based in Cyprus and governed by an acclaimed Board of Directors. The research agenda of the CyI is pursued at its five Research Centres, namely:

  1. The Computation-based Science and Technology Research Centre (CaSToRC)
  2. The Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Centre (STARC)
  3. The Energy Environment Water Research Centre (EEWRC)
  4. The Climate and Atmosphere Research Centre (CARE-C)
  5. The Science and Technology Driven Policy and Innovation Research Centre (STeDI-RC)

The Cyprus Institute invites applications for a highly qualified and motivated professional to join the Institute’s Graduate School on a full-time basis (100% FTE) for its premises at Athalassas Campus.

During this period, the successful candidate will be responsible to support the strategic development and effective implementation of the Institute’s activities related to program accreditation, European project development and management, Erasmus+ mobility program, and vocational education and training initiatives.

Position Specific Responsibilities/activities:

  • Support with supervising certain activities in order to facilitate the smooth operations of the graduate school’s and VET Center's activities and upgrade its overall performance.
  • Support the Head of Graduate School in the implementation of activities related to Academic and Students Affairs.
  • Support the preparation and submission of accreditation and re-accreditation applications for academic programs, ensuring compliance with national and international quality assurance standards and contributing to the continuous improvement of academic programs.
  • Identify funding opportunities under European and international programs, develop collaborations with national and international partners, and contribute to the preparation and submission of competitive EU-funded project proposals.
  • Oversee the implementation of EU-funded projects and Erasmus+ mobility projects, ensuring effective coordination with partners, timely delivery of activities and reports, and compliance with program rules and funding regulations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the activities of the CyI Vocational Education and Training (VET) Center, including coordination of training program offerings, review of program specifications, liaison with the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA), and engagement with relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with HRDA regulations.
  • Support the development of new educational and training initiatives, strengthen institutional partnerships, and prepare reports, presentations and other documentation related to the above activities.

Position Specific Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Position Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in vocational education and training programs, including familiarity with HRDA procedures and regulations
  • Experience in the management of the Erasmus+ program
  • Ability to supervise, guide and coordinate the work of admin staff
  • 2-year relevant work experience will be considered a competitive advantage
  • Experience in managing EU-funded projects
  • Experience of working in a research or academic institution

Duration of appointment:

The appointment is of a fixed-term duration and is subject to the return of the regular position holder to their regular duties at the relevant post.

Remuneration details:

Salary Band: CYI3(1-14)

Position’s Starting Salary: CYI3.1 - €30353.05
