QA Automation Lead

The Role

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Lead to take ownership of quality across the entire product lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to build and shape the QA function from the ground up, defining testing strategies, release processes, regression suites, automation initiatives, and bug management workflows.

You will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Growth teams to ensure high-quality releases across web applications, AI-powered features, payment systems, and marketing funnels.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall QA strategy and release quality across the entire platform.
• Design, build, and maintain comprehensive manual regression suites and release smoke test checklists.
• Establish and manage the complete bug lifecycle using ClickUp, including triage, severity levels, prioritization, and collaboration with engineering teams.
• Test AI-powered functionality, including conversation quality, memory, character consistency, content moderation, response accuracy, generation failures, and latency.
• Validate critical payment and subscription workflows, including purchases, upgrades, renewals, payment failures, and virtual credit or token consumption.
• Verify affiliate tracking, marketing funnels, analytics events, and user journey accuracy.
• Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing across desktop and mobile platforms, including iOS and Android.
• Introduce and expand automated testing where it provides the greatest value, including smoke and end-to-end testing.
• Mentor and support QA engineers as the team grows.
• Report release readiness, product quality metrics, defect trends, and testing risks to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must Have

• 5+ years of Software QA experience.
• At least 2 years leading QA for a consumer web application.
• Proven experience building QA strategies, testing processes, regression suites, and release workflows from scratch.
• Strong automation mindset with experience improving QA processes through automation.
• Excellent manual testing skills, including exploratory testing, edge-case analysis, and producing detailed, reproducible bug reports.
• Hands-on experience testing payment systems, subscription platforms, and responsive web applications.
• Experience with ClickUp or similar project management tools.
• Experience using Browser DevTools, API testing tools such as Postman, and basic SQL or analytics platforms.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Confidence to challenge release decisions using clear testing evidence and risk assessment.
• Comfortable working on an 18+ adult-content platform.

Nice to Have

• Experience testing AI or LLM-based products.
• Familiarity with affiliate marketing platforms, server-to-server tracking, postbacks, and analytics tools such as Everflow and Mixpanel.
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
