CareerFinders, on behalf of our client The Bank of Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Database Administrator to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Database Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing diverse database environments. You will ideally be educated to degree level in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and will possess proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Any relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or PostgreSQL Certified Engineer will be considered an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek & English are essential. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Install, configure, and manage Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB database systems.
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and updates.
• Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies for efficient operation.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database structures for new applications.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with best practices and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades.
• Implement and maintain database security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
• Provide support for database-related incidents.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or PostgreSQL Certified Engineer will be considered as an advantage.
• Any additional professional certification related to the job position will be considered as an advantage.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• In-depth knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for automation.
• Knowledge and working experience of Outsystems and Openshift platforms will be considered an advantage.
• Structure analytical and critical thinking.
• Very good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time, multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Ability to take initiatives and make decisions.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek & English.
