The Independence Team of the Central Risk Department of Deloitte Middle East & Cyprus is seeking to recruit a dynamic and motivated professional to join the team at the level of Associate to Senior, in our Nicosia or Limassol office.

The Team

The role of the Independence Team is to support the firm’s overall Independence function by providing guidance and advice to Deloitte professionals on independence matters. The Independence Team provides business support and is responsible for identifying and managing potential independence breaches, ensuring compliance with global and local regulatory requirements, and providing guidance on local independence policies and procedures.

The Role

The successful candidate’s key responsibilities include, among other:

  • Provide support to and closely work with the business in relation to all matters pertaining to audit independence and other regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical independence advice and guidance to the business, including analyzing and interpreting the firm’s independence policies against specific client engagement team queries.
  • Provide advice and guidance to client service engagement teams in technical consultations in relation to the provision of non-audit services.
  • Perform monitoring exercises and checks related to firm independence matters.
  • Effectively communicate and implement independence policies and procedures.
  • Support the managers and head of the Independence Team on other ongoing and ad-hoc independence-related tasks and projects.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree from a reputable university in Finance, Accounting, Law, Business Administration, or other related fields.
  • Audit experience.
  • Experience on independence matters will be considered as a strong advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
