THE COMPANY

On behalf of our client, a leading Group in the building materials and paint manufacturing in Cyprus, we seek to recruit an enthusiastic and high calibre professional for the position of Purchasing Manager, to be based in Nicosia.

THE POSITION

The successful candidate will be responsible to oversee the procurement processes and supplier relations by developing and implementing effective purchasing strategies while maintaining quality standards and budgetary constraints for the Company.

More specifically, the responsibilities of the successful candidate will be the following amongst others:

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes and achieve cost savings
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery terms to ensure favourable terms and conditions for the organization
• Maintain a comprehensive supplier database, purchase records and related documentation for efficient tracking and reporting
• Coordinate inventory control activities to determine and manage inventory needs, minimizing excess inventory while ensuring adequate stock levels
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials and ensure that all procured items meet the required standards and specifications through the execution of rigorous quality assurance processes
• Continuously assess and improve purchasing systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and manage budgets to control procurement expenses and achieve financial objectives
• Maintain good relationships and closely collaborate and interact with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
• Execute daily purchasing activities, including issuing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and resolving any procurement-related issues promptly
• Analyse market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability and prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs

REQUIREMENTS

• University Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or in a related discipline
• At least five (5) years of experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar procurement role
• Extensive knowledge of inventory and supply chain management principles
• Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of successful contract negotiations
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management skills
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervisory and management responsibilities
• Strong communication and representations skills
• Excellent knowledge of the Greek and English languages, both written and verbal
• Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

REMUNERATION
