CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a highly diversified Group of Companies with international activities in the Marine, Offshore and Energy industries, we are seeking to recruit a Vessel Accountant to join their growing team based in Limassol. As a Vessel Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting to clients and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You should be educated to degree level in Accounting,  Finance, Economics or another closely related field and possess approximately 3 years of relevant experience in financial management and analysis. Our client is seeking applicants who possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, and financial statements, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting, monitoring, and ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet financial obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including preparation and filing of tax returns, and keeping up to date with changes in tax laws.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and other teams across the organization to develop and maintain the annual budget and forecasting process, ensuring that financial targets are met.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making, including the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
  • Assist with the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement new procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another closely related field.
  • Any relevant accounting qualifications/certifications will be considered an advantage, but not essential.
  • Approximately 3 years of relevant experience in financial management and analysis is a must.
  • Any previous experience in the Marine/Shipping sector will be considered an advantage, but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
