Alumni Relations Officer

The American Academy Larnaca is a selective educational institution with an outstanding reputation and strong academic history. The AAL is thus committed to thephilosophy of encouraging all children to be leading citizens and lifelong learners.

We seek to recruit a full-time enthusiastic and committed Alumni Relations Officer who will be responsible for fostering excellent alumni relations engagement that will build and strengthen relationships between the School and its community of nearly 5000 graduates. The position is to start in April 2024.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Qualified to degree level in areas such as Marketing, Social Science, Business, etc.
  • Experience in a non-profit organisation, public relations or similar role.
  • Fluency in both English and Greek.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and content management systems.
  • Being an American Academy Larnaca Graduate will be considered an advantage.

It is clarified that priority will be given to applicants whose profile matches the criteria of any one (or both) of the below HRDA schemes:

1. Σχέδιο Κατάρτισης Μακροχρόνια Ανέργων

  • Applicant must be registered with the Public Employment Service (ΔΥΑ) for more than six (6) consecutive months until the date of employment.
  • Applicant must be under sixty (60) years of age. In case the applicant has completed a higher education course of at least three (3) years and holds a higher education diploma, then he/she must be between thirty (30) and under sixty (60) years of age.
  • In case the applicant has relevant work experience in the last four (4) years, this should not exceed eight (8) months. It is clarified that any participation of the applicant in a programme to acquire work experience with a grant from HRDA, which does not include his/her employment by the employer implementing the training programme, will not be taken into account as relevant work experience. It is also clarified that, in the event that the applicant is a degree holder, the internship required for their registration in a register of a professional association or in a register that may be kept by the Republic of Cyprus for the purpose of granting a license to practice their profession, is not taken into account as previous experience.
  • In the last five (5) years, the applicant must not have successfully completed another training programme within the framework of this or a similar HRDA scheme, which encompasses their employment. Successful completion of the programme means that at least three (3) months of training have been completed. It is clarified that the last five (5) years are calculated from the date of submission of the employer's application for participation in the scheme.
  • In the event that the applicant has participated in the HRDA Scheme “Σχέδιο Στελέχωσης Επιχειρήσεων με Αποφοίτους Τριτοβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης” in the last five (5) years and this programme is interrupted by HRDA, their participation in the Scheme shall not be equal to or greater than four (4) months. It is clarified that the last five (5) years are calculated from the date of submission of the employer's application for participation in the scheme.
  • Applicant must accept the fulfilment of all their obligations related to their participation in the scheme.

    2. Σχέδιο Στελέχωσης Επιχειρήσεων με Αποφοίτους Τριτοβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης

    • Applicant must have successfully completed a higher education programme of at least a three (3) year duration and hold at least a higher education degree/diploma, at the time of submission of application.
    • Applicant must be under thirty (30) years of age.
    • In case the applicant has relevant work experience, this should not exceed eight (8) months. It is clarified that the work experience of eight (8) months refers to experience acquired after obtaining their degree. It is also clarified that the practical training required for registration in a register of a professional association or in a register that may be kept by the Republic of Cyprus for the purpose of granting a license to practice their profession, is not taken into account as previous experience.
    • Applicant must not have successfully completed another training programme within the framework of this or a similar HRDA scheme, which encompasses their employment. Successful completion of the programme means that the applicant has completed at least four (4) months of training.
    • Applicant must accept the fulfilment of all their obligations related to their participation in the scheme.

    Interviews

    Interviews of shortlisted applicants will take place in the week commencing 25th March 2024.
