Responsibilities
- Opening and / or closing the restaurant.
- Recruiting, inducting, and mentoring new staff members
- Scheduling weekly roster, assigning shift leaders for wait staff and kitchen
- Ensure bar and kitchen serve consistent quality food and beverages, eliminating any inconsistencies.
- Resolving customers' questions and grievances in a professional manner.
- Conducting payroll activities in an accurate, timely manner.
- Ensuring that the restaurant adheres to pertinent health and safety regulations.
- Weekly / monthly stock control and ordering of stock.
- Ensure the cash registers are balanced daily
- Manage and store vendors’ contracts and invoices
- Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff
- Supervise kitchen, wait staff and baristas and provide assistance, as needed
- Daily, weekly and monthly reporting of income and expenses
- Drive sales and profitability of operation
- Gather and review guests’ feedback (online and offline) and recommend improvements to food and beverage offerings and service levels
- Implementation of training manuals and brand standards
Requirements
- Work experience as a Supervisor / Assistant Manager, or similar role in the hospitality industry
- Familiarity with restaurant management software
- Strong math and reporting skills
- Great customer service attitude
- High level communication and team management abilities
- Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends)
- Self-driven and motivated
- High school diploma; additional certification in hospitality is a plus
