We are seeking to recruit a high caliber Accountant to join our Team in Larnaca. The successful candidate will carry out his/her duties in the most efficient and effective manner delivering the highest accounting standards. He/She will also be pro-active in maintaining and/or improving the profitability in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns
- Assisting in the preparation of budget forecasts on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Handling monthly, quarterly and annual accounting entries and transactions
- Reconciling accounts payable and receivable
- Ensuring timely bank payments
- Managing balance sheets and profit/loss accounts
- Assisting in the reporting of the company’s financial health and liquidity
- Reinforcing financial data confidentiality and conducting database backups when necessary
- Complying with financial policies and regulation
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly cost estimates and actuals, analyzing the cost performance and variances compared to the approved budgets/forecast
- Ensuring consistency of reports and timely monthly closing accounting procedures
- Ensuring constant interface with management team and assisting and acting as primary focus for cost estimation, tracking and analysis
- Establishing solid financial system controls and developing procedures to standardize and improve
- Managing day to day transactions, completing Bank reconciliations
- Assisting in the preparation and submission of Social Insurance forms, VAT, Tax, Payroll, PAYE, VIES returns etc
- Assisting in the invoicing, handling accruals and pre-payments on invoices issued and received
- Participating in the preparation of payment instructions and online payments
- Monitoring compliance with International Financial and Reporting Standards (IFRS), company procedures and legal requirements
- Providing all the information and assistance to the external auditors on all matters
- Providing required information and analysis to external auditors for all Tax submissions
- Any other tasks as specified by the Financial Controller related to professional capacity
Qualifications
- University Degree in Accounting & Finance/or other related degree
- 3-5 years of previous work experience in a similar position
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office - emphasis in Excel & Outlook will be considered an advantage
- Very good knowledge of Greek and English language
