CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding property development and investment company, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Accountant to join their growing team based in Limassol. Reporting to Senior Management, the successful applicant will handle a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping duties, playing a key role in ensuring the financial health and stability of the Company. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other closely related fields, who possess approximately 3+ years of previous experience in a relevant accounting role. You will need to be fluent in both Greek and English, and be proficient with accounting software, with specific experience of working with E-Soft considered an additional advantage. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (E-Soft).
  • Ensure timely recording of financial transactions, including income, expenses, and other relevant entries.
  • Conduct regular reviews of ledgers to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Perform reconciliation of creditors to ensure that all outstanding payables are properly accounted for and resolved.
  • Generate and issue invoices to clients accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Record and track all issued invoices and receipts for future reference.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and accurately prepare and submit VAT returns within specified deadlines.
  • Keep abreast of changes in VAT laws and regulations to ensure adherence.
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including calculating salaries, deductions, and contributions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Handle employee inquiries related to payroll and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Stay informed about changes in labour laws and regulations affecting payroll.
  • Generate financial reports on a regular basis, summarizing key financial data for Management review.
  • Provide insights into financial trends and variances to aid decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax laws, and other relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation for audits.


Key Skills/Experience: 

  • An academic background in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar is desirable.
  • Applicants who hold any relevant accounting qualifications/certifications are encouraged to apply.
  • Approximately 3+ years of proven experience in a relevant accounting and bookkeeping role is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of at least one accounting software, with specific experience working with E-Soft considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of VAT requirements in Cyprus.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Fluency in Greek & English.
