CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a newly established Investment Firm that will offer clients access to a wide range of CFDs, we are seeking to recruit Head of Legal to join their growing team based in Limassol. As the Head of Legal, you will lead the legal team responsible for advising on all legal aspects of company operations and structures. This role involves developing and implementing legal strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing legal risks. You will need to possess an academic background in Law, be a qualified lawyer and hold extensive legal experience gained working in the Forex and/or Financial Services sectors. In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, including those specific to the CFD industry, along with strong negotiation and contract drafting skills are a must. 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the legal structures aligning them with the company's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated with relevant financial regulations, especially those specific to company operations and jurisdictions, and ensure full compliance with all applicable laws.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, contracts, and related legal documents with external counterparties.
• Identify, assess, and manage legal risks, including regulatory, operational, and contractual risks.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and policies.
• Oversee the resolution of legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, or negotiation with counterparties.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to guide emerging legal issues and regulatory changes affecting company operations.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external legal counsel to stay informed about changes in regulations and industry standards.
• Develop and enforce internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and risk management.
• Manage and mentor the legal team, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure efficient legal operations.

Key Skills/Experience:

• Educated to degree level in Law.
• A qualified lawyer.
• Extensive legal experience gained working in the Forex and/or Financial Services sectors is essential.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, including those specific to the CFD industry.
• Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
• Experience in managing legal teams and complex legal matters.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Attention to detail and a thorough understanding of legal intricacies.
• Ability to provide strategic legal guidance in a rapidly changing financial market environment.
