CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International company with diverse business interests, we are seeking to recruit a highly experienced and organised Purchasing Manager to join their expanding team of professionals in Limassol.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
 

  • Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders
  • Forecast levels of demand for services and products
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers
  • Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
  • Process payments and invoices
  • Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future
  • Produce reports and statistics on spending and saving when required
  • Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
  • Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading etc
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with relevant internal and external associates (such as vendors, purchasing managers, suppliers etc.)
  • Negotiate better pricing when requested
  • Resolve issues regarding shipped orders
  • Identify shipping issues and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Create and present reports for upper management
  • Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies
  • Report to management on activities and issues

 
Key Skills/Experience:
 

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager (4-5 years minimum experience)
  • BSc/BA in Shipping or Supply Chain or logistics or relative field is a must
  • Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documents
  • Solid knowledge of international logistics procedures
  • Analytical, well-organized and self-directed
  • Comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures
  • Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office (strong Excel)
  • Good understanding of budgeting and reporting
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates Problem-solving abilities and excellent team player
  • Strong leadership skills
