CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and highly regarded Travel & Tour Operator with offices in Limassol, we are seeking to recruit a Managing Director to lead their growing team. The successful applicant will oversee all aspects of the day-to-run running of the company, including Operations, Finance, Sales, Business Development & Human Resources. You will need to possess extensive, demonstrable experience working in either the Travel and/or Tourism industry within a relevant leadership role, with proven knowledge of various technology-based travel systems. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the business and lead its further development.
  • Create and promote the company’s vision and strategy to drive the next stage of growth.
  • Develop and grow the business in line with strategic objectives, plans and agreed budgets.
  • Conduct strategic forward planning and KPI reporting to plan with deliverable and measurable outcomes, to include preparation and implementation of business plans.
  • Analysing opportunities for growth in existing and new market segments to drive profitability and growth with business excellence and innovative solutions.
  • P&L responsibility for the business, achieving budgeted results and other financial goals, including reporting, budget status and full cost analysis.
  • Development and line management responsibilities of senior team, including Sales and Customer Service, Marketing, Operations, Accounts, HR and IT; as well as in conjunction with external resources
  • Liaise and work closely with industry bodies and associations.
  • Resource allocation and identification to assess appropriate staff and service levels.
  • Develops and establishes operating policies consistent with the broad policies and objectives and ensures their adequate execution. Appraises and evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the Board.
  • Ensure outstanding client service by translating their business needs to the program delivery, together with process recommendations and optimisation.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection and retention of staff, as well as payroll matters and staff training.
  • Leading by example and inspiring performance amongst the team, creating a positive and motivational atmosphere to provide solid growth/career opportunities for colleagues.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • University Degree and/or equivalent working experience.
  • Extensive experience in the Travel/Tourism industry is essential, ideally in a similar role as a Managing Director or another Senior Management position.
  • The successful candidate will have exceptional business maturity, commercial acumen, client and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrable track record of operational performance.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive and consultative approach, negotiation skills, together with strong collaboration, communication and people leadership skills.
  • Excellent understanding of wider industry and products, together with knowledge of travel technology systems (GDS) and web-based booking tools, as well as proficiency with 3rd party reporting products, integrated monitoring and evaluation program, and management tools.
  • All-rounder with an excellent grasp on all the metrics that drive a travel business, including but not limited to sales and customer acquisition, marketing, accounts and client relationships, project management, analytical and reporting functions, trade events, as well as managing the day-to-day activities and operations of the business.
  • Ability to scale business growth; flexible and develop alongside as required.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated individual with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced business.
