Almond Recruitment on behalf of our client, a leading accounting firm, are currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join their offices in Nicosia. This would be a fantastic opportunity to work with an extremely strong and well-established firm.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounting and bookkeeping requirements on behalf of a portfolio of clients
• Register Company to VAT/TAX/Social Insurance
• Assist with the preparation of Management accounts
• Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date accounting records based on accounting policies and standards
• Prepare VAT Returns / VIES forms
• Prepare all forms necessary for the registration of clients to VAT/Tax/Social Insurance
• Monthly Reconciliations of VAT, Social Insurance, and accounting records
• Establish budgets and forecasts, ensure that these are met and take proactive actions when necessary
• Compile and present financial and budget reports
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with professional standards, applicable laws and regulations and internal policies
• Prepare monthly payroll on behalf of clients
• Bookkeeping and reconciling of sales and receivables
• Bookkeeping and reconciliation of purchases and payables
• Preparation of bank reconciliations
• Monitor and analyse accounting data and produce financial client reports and/or statements.
• Assist with the preparation of cash flow projections and forecast reports

Requirements

• Have a university degree (BSc) with background in accounting, ACCA or equivalent qualifications
• Must be fluent in English and Greek which is essential
• Minimum five years’ work experience
• Hands on experience with accounting software
• Knowledge of VAT, Social Insurances and Tax Laws and regulations
