LOGISTICS MANAGER - LARNACA

On behalf of our client, A. ZORBAS & SONS LTD, a leader in its field and one of the largest group of companies in Cyprus, we seek to recruit an experienced and high calibre professional for the position of Logistics Manager, to be based in Larnaca.

THE POSITION

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, developing and coordinating all aspects of the logistics and supply chain operation.

More specifically, the responsibilities of the successful candidate will be the following, amongst other:

• Develop, implement and maintain logistics policies, procedures and practices in support of the Group’s business strategy
• Identify, suggest and implement improvements to existing logistics procedures, policies and practices
• Set departmental objectives / Key Performance Indicators, ensure that these are met and take proactive action when necessary 
• Allocate and monitor the Department’s budgets and review and/or prepare all relevant reports
• Provide advice in order to achieve efficient transportation (routing, schedules for delivery, etc.)
• Ensure the safe loading / unloading and transferring of products in order to avoid any damages and losses 
• Ensure the timely purchase and / or replacement and /or maintenance of Company’s vehicles
• Provision of training and guidance to drivers and co-drivers in order to ensure compliance with traffic rules (e.g. speed limit, parking, etc.)
• Develop, update and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements
• Supervise the day to day activities of the Logistics Department to ensure smooth operation overall
• Ensure that the Department’s operations comply with the Group’s standards, policies and procedures
• Monitor team performance and provide guidance for further development
• Respond and handle Department’s needs and be responsible for training coaching and developing people of the Department
• Manage and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS              

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management/Logistics/Operations Management or in any related field
• Master’s Degree in any related field will be considered as an advantage
• At least five (5) years of experience in a logistics management role, in a reputable organization with a robust logistics, warehousing and supply chain operation
• Strong fleet management experience
• Successful track record in leading teams
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams
• Planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
• Strong commercial acumen
• Knowledge of best practices related to his/her duties
• Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of WMS
• Excellent knowledge of HSE related matters and legislation
• Excellent knowledge of the Greek and English languages, both written and verbal
