On behalf of our client, a credit institution, EY People Advisory Services is currently seeking to recruit an experienced individual with a Banking background, who will oversee and ensure the smooth conduct of the operations of the institution.

This appointment is for a fixed period of six (6) months.

OPERATIONS MANAGER - Nicosia

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure the smooth, effective and efficient operation of the credit institution in order to protect its assets.
• Plan, review and monitor the Departments and Services’ work to ensure their proper operation.
• Represent the credit institution in meetings with the relevant authorities, when invited to do so.
• Cooperate with external legal advisors and provide the required documentation and information.
• Analyse and evaluate financial and other data and take necessary action when required for ensuring the minimization of costs.
• Prepare and submit reports, notes and proposals regarding issues of his/her responsibility to the relevant authorities in Cyprus and abroad.
• Communicate with creditors, debtors, suppliers, partners and correspondent banks to safeguard the interests of the institution.
• Prepare, announce and evaluate tenders for assignment of works.
• Supervise, delegate tasks and provide guidance to the employees of the institution.
• Perform any other duties assigned to him/her.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• A University Degree in Economics/Finance/Banking/Law or a related field
• Postgraduate degree in Economics/Finance/Banking/Accounting/ Mathematics/Actuarial/ Law or be a member of a body of Professional Accountants accepted by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) or a member of a Professional Body of Actuaries
• Minimum 5 years of prior experience in the banking sector
• Fluent knowledge of Greek and English
• Managerial capability and strong critical thinking
• Excellent organisational skills and work ethics
