Job Purpose

The incumbent holding this role is responsible for coordinating and managing all commercial activities of the company’s works / projects.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports with the preparation of tender documents, planning for a new project, contractual terms and conditions, required budgets and other documentation required for each project
  • Supports with the preparation of subcontractor and joint venture agreements and terms and conditions
  • Provides advice and consultation on contractual/commercial terms and conditions in relation to his/her area of responsibility
  • Evaluates subcontract progress of works and checks for quality assurance (processes) and quality control (product) of the completed work
  • Provides support to the Project teams during the last phase of completion and handing over to the client, so as to ensure that all contractual/commercial terms and conditions have been met
  • Receives, reviews and agrees the final accounts for each completed project, in coordination with the Senior QS, the Project team and the Finance and Accounts team
  • Receives, reviews and agrees final accounts, including subcontractors final accounts
  • Checks and reviews interim certificates for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Arranges and reviews payments to suppliers and subcontractors in collaboration with the Finance and Accounts department
  • Proactively foresees and notifies the relevant stakeholders of any matters that may lead to legal complications
  • Preparation/completion of documents concerning the development of requirements to Senior Management and the CEO
  • Manages and coordinates the process for potential claims in relation to the acceleration or time extension of a project or any other contract related claims, in coordination with the Legal and Compliance Officer and Business Control Manager
  • Initiates and follows up dispute resolution procedures according to each contract, recording and monitoring process, in coordination with legal advisors and the project team
  • Represents the company in meetings with clients, consultants and local authorities, so as to manage any issues arising from potential claims and arbitrations
  • Ensures that the project schedules adhere to the corporate quality, health, safety, security and environment management system Promotes the policy for QHSSE and ensures that his/her acts or omissions do not harm the health and safety of himself/herself, others or the environment

  • Establishes and monitors an appropriate Commercial Plan
  • Keeping abreast with developments related to own role
  • Other responsibilities and authorities as defined in the Group’s procedures or as instructed by the CEO
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments
