On behalf of our client, a well-established company operating in the food, beverage and catering industry, we are seeking to recruit an Accounting Department Head (CR/16) for full time employment.
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the role entails the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise the accounting department on all activities
- Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
- Prepare detailed journal entries and account analysis
- Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax/VAT returns
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
- Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting
- Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
- Supervising, coaching and developing junior team members
The successful candidate should have:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a managerial position within an accounting function with high volume of data and transactions in the industry, is a must
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data
- Ability to work autonomously and prudency in calculating risks
- IT literacy with excellent knowledge and experience of Outlook/Excel/Word
- Fluency in both Greek and English, verbal and written
- Integrity, judgement and a high level of responsibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
