CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Financial Services Group, we are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Accountant to join their expanding team in Limassol. This is an ideal position for a newly-qualified ACA with up to 2 years post-qualification experience looking for rapid career advancement within a stimulating and challenging international business environment.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
 

  • Maintain the accounting books and records of the Company as well as other affiliated entities.
  • Prepare monthly and/or quarterly management accounts.
  • Prepare budgets and handle budgetary control at Company-level.
  • Liaise with banks and other service providers for the opening and maintenance of bank accounts; handle banking relationships.
  • Arrange payments of corporate expenses and suppliers.
  • Reconciliation of bank, supplier, client accounts as well as intercompany balances.
  • Liaise with key corporate relationships such as affiliates overseas, liquidity counterparties, key suppliers as part of the smooth running and maintenance of accounting records and the preparation of management accounts.
  • Prepare and submit VAT Returns.
  • Manage corporation tax preparation and submissions in liaison with auditors and tax advisors.
  • Handle taxisnet accounts of the Company.
  • Provide recommendations to the Financial Controller for the development of best practice standards on financial control as well as accounting and finance-related procedures.
  • Liaise with external auditors as part of the preparation and completion of the annual statutory audit.
  • Cooperate with and support other teams as part of handling key financial relationships (e.g. banking and liquidity counterparties overseas).
  • Support other teams in ad-hoc projects.
  • Other tasks assigned by the Financial Controller or the Group CFO from time to time.

 
Key Skills/Experience:
 

  • University Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance or any other related field.
  • Newly-qualified ACA with up to 2 years post-qualification experience either in practice or in industry.
  • Has a solid understanding of the full accounting cycle of a Company from transaction capture (bookkeeping) all the way to management accounts and statutory accounts preparation;
  • Good grasp of IFRSs.
  • Experience in Fund services / Fund administration is an advantage, although not a prerequisite.
  • Experience in an international professional environment is a plus.
  • Experience with Quickbooks is a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills in both Greek and English.
  • Understands and appreciates time-sensitive engagements.
  • Is proactive, works independently, takes own initiative and manages / leads the process rather than follow. Is a natural problem solver, team-player, yet able to formulate solutions with minimal supervision. Works hard and intelligently with sheer attention to detail and relishes working with long, detailed documents and complex corporate structures.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
