CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a boutique provider of Audit & Accounting services to a diverse portfolio of both local and international clients, we are seeking to recruit a Bookkeeper to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for a range of accounting and bookkeeping tasks including maintaining and updating financial records, maintaining payroll records, processing daily transactions, performing regular bank reconciliations, and more! Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field, and holders of the LCCI Higher accounting certification are encouraged to apply. You will need to be familiar with accounting software, with specific experience working with Synthesis software considered a significant advantage, and fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is a must. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience, which includes a 13th salary. Flexible working hours are offered, as well as an early finish each Friday at 14:00.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable via accounting software.
• Maintaining payroll via payroll software.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data by reconciling accounts regularly.
• Process daily transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash flow records.
• Monitor and record all bank transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
• Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring bills are paid on time and recorded accurately.
• Handle accounts receivable, ensuring invoicing is done correctly and payments are tracked and collected.
• Assist with preparing tax returns and providing necessary financial information to external accountants.
• Maintain organized records of all financial documents and transactions.
• Ensure proper filing of invoices, receipts, and financial statements for future reference and audit purposes.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Recognised accounting qualification, such as LCCI Higher in Accounting.
• Approximately 3+ years of relevant professional accounting experience.
• Experience and proficiency in the Synthesis Accounting System is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of payroll system and filling of related returns with the Tax Department.
• Excellent computer literacy and good command of written and spoken English.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Professional attitude, integrity and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
