Accounting Manager - Nicosia

Our client, one of the most recognised Groups in Cyprus, is seeking to recruit an experienced Accounting Manager, in Nicosia, on a full-time basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller with the following main responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely finalization of the Trial Balance for all group companies, including oversight of period-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and resolution of accounting discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations.
• Lead and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Ensure timely submission of tax returns, VAT filings, and other statutory obligations.
• Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on financial processes and business objectives.
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or in any other related field and/or holder or partly holder of professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA)
• At least six (6) years of experience as well as proven experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, month-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and the preparation of accurate and complete financial information.
• Strong team orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written
• Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure with computerized accounting software
• Strong management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and develop teams, drive accountability, and ensure the efficient execution of accounting operations

Location: The position is for the headquarters of the group in Nicosia

Remuneration: A competitive remuneration package with gross annual salary of around €40K, according to qualifications and experience, will be offered to the successful candidate, plus a Medical Insurance Scheme, Provident Fund, and a range of additional employee benefits.
