Acting as a strategic business partner to the CEO, General Manager, and Board of Directors, the Financial Manager will go beyond traditional accounting to actively shape operational and strategic decision-making. You will ensure financial discipline, protect assets, optimize cash flow, drive profitability, and maintain strict compliance with Cyprus legislation and luxury hospitality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Management & Internal Controls: Take full ownership of daily financial operations, ensure appropriate segregation of duties, maintain internal control frameworks, and safeguard assets against fraud or financial mismanagement.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow: Prepare annual operating and CapEx budgets, produce monthly forecasts, manage seasonal liquidity, and investigate variance drivers.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Deliver comprehensive monthly management accounts, departmental P&L reports, and executive dashboards covering RevPAR, ADR, Occupancy, GOP, EBITDA, payroll, and F&B cost dynamics.
- Commercial & Operational Advice: Partner with department heads to evaluate expenditure, analyze pricing and promotional impact, identify cost-saving initiatives, and optimize margins.
- Working Capital & Cost Control: Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, credit control, purchasing compliance, inventory reconciliations, and waste management.
- Payroll & Cost Efficiency: Supervise payroll processing, ensure statutory compliance, and analyze overtime, staffing metrics, and benefit schemes against operational budgets.
- Taxation, Audit & Compliance: Coordinate annual external audits, manage VAT and statutory returns, liaise with banks, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies, and ensure compliance with Cyprus legislation.
- Leadership: Directly manage and mentor the Finance Department team, fostering continuous professional development and high standards of accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Requirements:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong understanding of Cyprus tax, VAT, and statutory financial regulations.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proven track record in financial management, full-cycle accounting, budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, and managing finance teams.
- Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/financial management software.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities, strategic commercial awareness, high professional integrity, and excellent command of English.
Desirable Attributes:
- Prior experience in luxury / 5-star hotel environments or broader hospitality operations.
- Familiarity with hotel accounting and Property Management Systems (PMS).
