The PV Technology Laboratory at the University of Cyprus (UCY) invites applications for one (1) Special Scientist – Administrative Support Staff position, offered on either a part-time or full-time basis, to provide support to the Lab’s research project activities. The appointed candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality administrative support, contributing to the planning, coordination and organization of events, and managing social media related to the Lab’s research activities. The position entails ensuring the effective execution of day-to-day administrative operations, supporting the coordination of meetings and documentation, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures as well as national and European regulations. It is noted that one (1) month of full-time employment corresponds to 140 working hours.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognised higher education institution in any field of study, with a minimum grade of 2.1 or equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of experience in an administrative or operational support role.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with digital document management systems will be considered an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of Greek and English, both written and spoken.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The following will be considered an advantage:
• Qualifications in Administration Studies, Secretarial Studies, or Business Administration.
• Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
• Experience in the administration and support of funded research programmes (e.g. European or national projects).
• Experience in managing social media accounts and dissemination of research project activities and results.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Supporting communication and dissemination activities of research projects of the Lab, includes but not limited to managing and keeping up to date project websites and social media channels.
• Providing administrative support to the staff of the Lab.
• Photocopying, scanning, and filing various documents.
• Maintaining and organizing internal documentation, files, and records in both digital and physical formats.
• Administrative support for the preparation of agendas, minutes, invitations, and correspondence (letters/emails) as required.
• Supporting the planning and delivery of internal and external meetings, events/workshops, and training sessions, including logistical arrangements.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
The position (part-time or full-time) will be offered on a one (1) year contract on an hourly basis, with a 6-month probation period, with the possibility of renewal based on performance. The gross monthly salary depends on the candidate's qualifications and experience and will be between €1,400 - €2,000 (based on 140 working hours). From the monthly gross remuneration, the employee’s contributions to the relevant State Funds will be deducted. The gross remuneration includes the proportional amount of the 13th salary, in accordance with applicable regulations.

Applicants are not required to be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. However, applicants should ensure that, if selected, they will be residing in Cyprus on a full-time basis for the duration of the employment period. Submission of an application implies acceptance of this condition.
The best three candidates that satisfy the required qualifications will be interviewed by a three-member Committee.
