The primary purpose of this role is to establish and deliver a dynamic Greek language curriculum that supports linguistic proficiency while promoting global literacy. The role
We are the Island Private School of Limassol in Cyprus and we are seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Greek Teacher.
We are also building a new school campus on a 50,000 m2 site, expected to be completed approximately by the end of 2027. It will include kindergarten, elementary and high school, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. This is an opportunity to join a growing school during an important period of development and change.
Key duties and responsibilities

Teach engaging and interactive lessons aligned with the Greek primary curriculum, with ideally knowledge of our Montessori, Waldorf and IB programs

Encourage students to explore different aspects of the Greek language and history

Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds

Create and implement assessment strategies to evaluate language proficiency, literary analysis skills, and understanding of Greek cultural context

Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units integrating Greek language and literature with other subject areas

Provide timely, constructive feedback to support students’ academic and personal development

Participate in parent-teacher conferences, departmental meetings, and professional development activities

Contribute to extracurricular activities such as literary clubs, language immersion programs, or Greek cultural events
Essential qualifications and experience
-
Bachelor's degree in Education, Greek Language and Literature as a prerequisite or related field (master's preferred)

Recognised teaching certification and/or relevant teaching experience

Proficiency in Greek and a strong understanding of Greek literature, history, and culture

Familiarity with inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, and student-centered teaching methodologies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate in a diverse, international school environment

Commitment to ongoing professional development, learning, and reflective teaching practice

Working conditions
There are 19 classes per week. Working hours are 08.00-16.00 or 09.00-17,00 depending on schedules.
