JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Learning & Development Officer

Department: Human Resources

Reports to: Human Resources Manager

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION

Supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of learning and development programs that enhance employee capability and support organizational objectives. Assists in identifying development needs, facilitates training initiatives, maintains learning records, and evaluates training effectiveness. Promotes company values, culture, and service standards while partnering with managers and employees to foster continuous learning and professional growth across the organization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Coordinate and administer property learning and development activities, ensuring alignment with Marriott brand standards, company values, mission, and business objectives.
  1. Manage and maintain the Ermis and DLZ platforms, including EID creation, user support, course enrollment, orientation tracking, progress monitoring, and compliance reporting.
  1. Coordinate internal and external training programs, including scheduling, venue arrangements, participant communication, and liaison with training providers.
  1. Conduct and monitor employee orientation programs, ensuring new Associates receive a comprehensive introduction to the company culture, policies, and service standards.
  1. Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate departmental and mandatory training programs for new hires and existing Associates to ensure compliance and development objectives are achieved.
  1. Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, training costs, completion reports, feedback, evaluations, and learning metrics.
  1. Promote learning opportunities, development initiatives, and employee engagement activities to foster a culture of continuous learning.
  1. Assist in the development and maintenance of the annual training calendar and support the implementation of property-wide learning initiatives.
  1. Review, update, and maintain learning materials, employee handbooks, grooming and uniform standards, onboarding resources, and other training-related documentation.
  1. Generate training and compliance reports, providing insights and recommendations to support operational and business needs.
  1. Participate in Marriott webinars, conference calls, office hours, and learning activations to remain current on learning programs, systems, and best practices.
  1. Incorporate guest satisfaction, service excellence, and continuous improvement principles into learning and development activities.
  1. Lead and/or participate in special projects, initiatives, and assignments as determined by management.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

To attend any meeting or training sessions as required by management.

To be conversant with:

The Hotel Fire Procedures.

The Hotel Security Procedures.

The Hotel facilities and attractions.

The Hotel Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.

Hotel operation standards and departmental procedures.

Methods of payment accepted by the Company. (cash handling staff only)

Current Licensing regulations. (Food and Beverage Service department only)

To adhere to the company’s policies and procedures for quality, environment and food safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Hospitality Management or other relevant field.

Minimum 2 years’ work experience as a Training officer or Assistant.

Knowledge of Ermis Platform.

Excellent Knowledge of English and Greek Languages, both verbal and written.

Highly effective communication and organizational Skills.

Excellent planning and organizational skills, including ability to meet strict deadlines, manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.

Strong Presentation skills.

Excellent leadership, management, and team building skills.

Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook).

Pleasant personality.
