HSSEQ Assistant

We are looking for a proactive and motivated HSSEQ Assistant to join our team in Cyprus and play a key role in supporting safe and sustainable operations.
YOUR CHALLENGE: ·
- Coordinate and oversee daily Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), including Permit to Work (PTW) processes, Toolbox Talks (TBTs), Task-Based Risk Assessments (TBRAs), lifting plans, and certification compliance checks. ·
- Maintain accurate HSSEQ records and ensure all required documentation and evidence are uploaded and managed within the MedservRegis EHS Management System (SAI360).
- · Provide proactive on-site HSSEQ support and maintain a visible safety presence across yard, quayside, and operational areas. ·
- Facilitate daily Toolbox Talks and promote clear, effective communication of safety requirements, lessons learned, and operational risks to employees and contractors. ·
- Conduct routine site inspections, Permit to Work audits, first aid and spill response equipment checks, and actively support incident reporting and investigations.
- Lead, coordinate, and evaluate emergency response drills, including fire, evacuation, spill response, and first aid scenarios. ·
- Manage waste documentation and manifests, ensuring full compliance with environmental permits, regulatory obligations, and company standards. ·
- Deliver engaging site safety inductions and orientation programmes for employees, contractors, clients, and visitors. ·
- Support the management, inspection, and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), escalating deficiencies and improvement opportunities to the HSSEQ Supervisor. ·
- Champion a positive safety culture by promoting behavioural safety initiatives and active workforce engagement through Medserv’s SHOC programme.
WHO ARE YOU: ·
- This is a locally based, residential onshore support position.
- No offshore assignments or rotational work are required. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Cyprus, as relocation, accommodation, and travel assistance are not provided. ·
- Hold a recognised HSSEQ qualification, such as NEBOSH, NVQ, or IOSH certification. ·
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. ·
- Hold a recognised Internal Auditor certification. ·
- Certified in incident investigation methodologies, such as TOPSET or TapRooT. ·
- Demonstrated experience in quayside and pipe yard operations within the oil and gas services sector. · Proven experience in lifting operations and related safety requirements. ·
- Strong working knowledge of local environmental regulations and experience liaising with regulatory and environmental authorities.
- · Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. · Fluent in both Greek and English, with strong written and verbal communication abilities. ·
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support a fast-paced project environment, including occasional changes to working hours and weekend work when required
