The Opportunity

With a global actuarial community of more than 1,500 professionals, PwC’s actuarial services team plays a leading role in helping clients address complex financial, risk and regulatory challenges. We combine actuarial expertise, analytical insight and practical business judgement to support clients in making informed decisions. 

We are looking for an experienced actuarial professional, to join our growing PwC Cyprus Actuarial Services team. The role is well suited to someone with experience in either Non-Life insurance or Pensions actuarial work, and an interest in applying their skills across a broad range of client and PwC network projects. 

You will contribute to actuarial and multidisciplinary engagements, which may include areas such as reserving, pricing, capital, risk, financial reporting, assurance, pension valuations, employee benefits, analytics, transaction support, strategic planning and transformation. You will also have the opportunity to work with PwC teams across the wider network, supporting international projects and developing broader market exposure. 

Your Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver a range of actuarial and multidisciplinary assignments across insurance, pensions and related advisory areas. 

• Support clients on technical actuarial matters, including analysis, reporting, modelling, review and communication of results. 

• Interact with clients and PwC teams, often acting as a key day-to-day contact on assignments. 

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in Cyprus and across the PwC network. 

• Contribute to PwC network projects, gaining exposure to international clients, methodologies and market practices. 

• Support the development of the actuarial practice, including propositions, methodologies, internal training and knowledge-sharing. 

• Coach and support junior team members through on-the-job guidance, review of work and professional development support. 

What You Bring

• Partly-qualified, nearly qualified or newly qualified actuary, or equivalent relevant actuarial experience. 

• Experience in either Non-Life insurance actuarial work or Pensions actuarial work. 

• Strong technical actuarial skills, with experience in one or more areas such as reserving, pricing, capital, risk, financial reporting, Solvency II, IFRS 17, pension valuations, employee benefits or related actuarial advisory work. 

• Experience contributing to, managing or leading actuarial projects, including planning, delivery, stakeholder communication and review of work. 

• Ability to explain complex technical matters clearly and practically to both actuarial and non-actuarial audiences. 

• Good commercial awareness and an interest in the wider business issues facing insurers, pension funds, employers, regulators and financial institutions. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. 

• Self-motivated, agile and comfortable working across multiple assignments and teams. 

• Previous consulting experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. 

• Experience working with international teams, network firms or cross-border projects would also be beneficial.
