Role Summary
As a Bellman, you will support a smooth and welcoming guest experience by assisting with arrivals, departures, and daily guest needs, while maintaining hotel standards and following all company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests on arrival and escort them to their rooms.
- Open doors and assist guests and visitors entering and leaving the property.
- Transport guest luggage to and from rooms and/or the designated bell area.
- Support luggage storage and retrieval.
- Assist guests and visitors in and out of vehicles, including loading and unloading luggage.
- Explain room features, including key usage, mini-bar, ice or vending areas, in-room safe, and valet laundry services.
- Inform guests about property amenities, services, operating hours, and local attractions.
- Provide directions to guests as needed.
- Arrange transportation (taxi, shuttle, etc.) and record advance requests when required.
- Communicate parking procedures to guests and visitors.
- Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on the property.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests in line with company standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, including phone etiquette.
- Support colleagues and promote teamwork and respect.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Safety, Security and Standards
- Follow all safety, security, and company procedures.
- Report hazards, maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Comply with quality assurance standards.
- Protect confidentiality and company assets.
- Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance.
Physical Requirements
- Safely move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 23 kg without assistance.
- Assist with heavier items up to 34 kg when required.
- Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods or full shifts.
- Move quickly in response to operational needs.
- Perform physical movements such as bending, twisting, reaching, and climbing stairs or ramps.
- Read and verify information in various formats, including small print.
General Responsibilities
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
- Be familiar with hotel fire procedures, hotel security procedures, hotel facilities and local attractions, and health and safety policies and procedures.
- Be familiar with operational standards and departmental procedures.
- Be familiar with accepted payment methods (cash-handling staff only).
- Be familiar with licensing regulations (Food and Beverage department only).
- Adhere to company policies on quality, environment, and food safety.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of hospitality experience in a similar role, ideally within 4- or 5-star hotels.
- Excellent command of English (Greek and Russian are a plus).
- Strong communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
- Pleasant, customer-focused personality.
