Role Summary

The Social Media Officer is responsible for creating, curating, and managing content across multiple social media platforms to increase brand visibility, engage audiences, and drive traffic to the company’s online platforms. This role combines creativity with analytical thinking and requires a strong understanding of digital marketing trends.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Content creation and management
  • Develop and execute social media content plans in line with the company’s marketing strategy.
  • Create, edit, and publish content including text, images, videos, and graphics, tailored to each platform.
  • Ensure content follows the brand’s tone, voice, and style guidelines.
Social media strategy and execution
  • Manage daily posting, scheduling, and monitoring across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to maintain consistent messaging and branding.
Community management
  • Engage with followers and respond to comments and messages promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor online conversations and participate where relevant to support relationships and protect the brand’s online reputation.
Analytics and reporting
  • Track and analyse performance metrics such as reach, engagement, and conversions using tools including META Ads Manager and Sprinklr.
  • Prepare regular performance reports and share insights to improve social media activity.
Trend monitoring
  • Keep up to date with social media trends, algorithm updates, and emerging platforms.
  • Suggest new ideas to strengthen engagement and brand presence.
Campaigns and collaborations
  • Support the planning and delivery of social media campaigns, contests, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with influencers, content creators, and third parties to help extend brand reach.
Compliance and crisis management
  • Ensure all content and activities follow relevant laws, guidelines, and company policies.
  • Support swift and professional handling of potential issues, working with PR and management teams.
General Responsibilities
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management.
  • Be familiar with hotel procedures and standards, including:
  • Hotel Fire Procedures
  • Hotel Security Procedures
  • Hotel facilities and attractions
  • Hotel Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
  • Hotel operation standards and departmental procedures
  • Methods of payment accepted by the Company (cash handling staff only)
  • Current Licensing regulations (Food and Beverage Service department only)
  • Company policies and procedures for quality, environment, and Health and Safety
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
Professional Experience
  • Proven experience managing social media accounts for a brand, organisation, or agency.
  • Demonstrated experience creating engaging digital content across multiple social media platforms.
  • Experience with social media advertising, campaign management, and community management is considered an advantage.
  • A portfolio demonstrating social media campaigns, photography, videography, or content creation will be highly regarded.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency across major platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Experience with social media management and scheduling tools such as Hootsuite, Sprinklr, or similar platforms.
  • Basic to intermediate graphic design and video editing skills using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), CapCut, or equivalent software.
  • Basic photography and videography skills and an eye for creating high-quality visual content for digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles, web traffic metrics, and social media analytics.
Soft Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
  • Strong interest in content creation, digital storytelling, and social media trends.
  • Creative mindset with attention to aesthetics, branding, photography, and visual storytelling.
  • Strong organisation, planning, and multitasking skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data-driven approach with the ability to interpret analytics, monitor KPIs, and optimise content based on results.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, platforms, and evolving marketing practices.
  • A proactive and innovative attitude, with a genuine interest in creating engaging digital content.
