CareerFinders Recruitment Services LtdCareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established consulting engineering firm, we are seeking to recruit a Health & Safety Engineer to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Health & Safety Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who ideally hold previous experience in a relevant Health & Safety role within the engineering, construction, or consultancy sectors. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Health & Safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending measures to prevent recurrence.
- Provide Health & Safety guidance and technical support to project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Monitor contractor compliance with Health & Safety requirements throughout project execution.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, incidents, and statutory documentation.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and foster a proactive Health & Safety culture across all projects.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or another relevant discipline.
- Professional Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate, IOSH, or equivalent) will be considered an advantage.
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within the engineering, construction, or consultancy sectors will be considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Cyprus Health & Safety legislation and applicable European standards will be considered an advantage.
- Experience preparing Health & Safety documentation, conducting risk assessments, and carrying out site inspections will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with the confidence to engage with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent command of both Greek and English, both verbal and written.
- A valid driving licence is required.
