The Role:
As an Operator (DA & Port Costs Operator), you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that our customers experience the full value of trueport’s platform. You’ll collaborate with port agents and shipanagers/shipowners, manage port costs, and deliver transparency and efficiency across every transaction.
What You’ll Do:

Benchmark and optimize pricing across the trueport agency network

Review and validate Disbursement Accounts (DAs) in line with trueport SOPs and principles

Partner with port agents to deliver seamless execution of the trueport value proposition

Monitor and report on KPIs for operations, customers, and agents

Coordinate with port cost teams to manage husbandry and commercial port cost needs

Work cross-functionally to ensure client requirements are met

Conduct KYC processes for onboarding new customers and agents
-
Manage prefunding and reconciliation of payments to port agents
-
Review charter parties to identify cost recovery opportunities for customers
-
Ensure proactive accuracy of port costs from enquiry to reconciliation
-
Investigate discrepancies in DA expenses and identify root causes
-
Execute special tasks and projects in accordance with instructions from the line manager

Contribute to the development of new or the amendment of existing procedures

Promote and support efforts for continual improvement
What We’re Looking For:
Required:

Strong command of English (written and verbal)

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
-
Minimum 3 years of maritime operations experience

Analytical mindset with attention to detail

Experience in a customer-facing role

Strong problem‑solving skills
-
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools, tariffs, and operational processes
Desired:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies or related discipline
-
3+ years’ experience in the maritime industry with knowledge of commercial operations and ship management

Understanding of process optimization and efficiency
-
Familiarity with performance measurement tools and KPIs
-
Experience working with digital maritime platforms
-
Familiarity with port tariffs, cost modelling and common port cost components
