Role overview

Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort is looking for a Technician to join the Maintenance Department. In this role, you will carry out preventive maintenance and repairs across key hotel systems, respond to issues raised by guests and departments, and support the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs of electromechanical, plumbing, heating, and ventilation systems and installations, according to your major skills and the annual maintenance plan.
• Support preventive maintenance and repairs of fire alarm and fire suppression systems, working in cooperation with external subcontractors when required.
• Respond efficiently and effectively to issues reported by guests and other departments.
• Complete any other duties assigned by the Technical Manager and/or the Assistant Technical Manager.
• Keep your working area clean and tidy at all times.
• Monitor stock levels of spare parts and materials in the maintenance store and inform the Technical Manager and/or the Assistant Technical Manager about low stock levels.
• Maintain good communication and teamwork with colleagues and other hotel departments.
• Follow health and safety standards and regulations at all times while carrying out your duties.
• Understand and comply with all hotel policies and internal regulations.
• Understand and participate in, and comply with, the hotel’s Fire Safety and Emergency Procedures.
• Take part in departmental and hotel meetings.
• Participate in training and seminars to improve skills and knowledge.
• Contribute your best effort to the successful and smooth operation of the hotel.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Technician (preferably in a 4-5* hotel), or previous experience as a plumber, electrician, or air conditioning technician in the construction sector.
• Knowledge of machines, tools, and equipment, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented.
