JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Payroll Officer
Department: Accounts
Reports to: Director of Finance

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
Responsible for all payroll and payroll related duties for the hotel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to operate the company’s payroll in accordance with the local law, to update any instructions from the Inland revenue department and to report to any senior member of the Finance Department any adverse occurrences in any department of the hotel.
  • Responsible to maintain under strict confidentiality the company’s payroll.
  • Checking and inputting Time-Sheets to the Payroll System on a weekly basis.
  • Periodical spot checks on the current time-sheets at the various departments and reporting any irregularities noticed to the senior Finance staff.
  • Updating and reconciling of leave and sick-leave records with Payroll system & HR records.
  • Ensuring daily back-up of payroll.
  • Ensuring the reconciliation of the Net pay amount with the bank transfer amount before the transfer of money is performed.
  • Ensuring the end of month bank transfer on the last working day of the month.
  • Preparation of Year end Reports required by Auditors and / or under Cypriot law.
  • Preparation of the electronic lodgment required by the Inland revenue department.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To attend any meeting or training sessions as required by management.

To be conversant with:

  • The Hotel Fire Procedures
  • The Hotel Security Procedures
  • The Hotel facilities and attractions
  • The Hotel Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
  • Hotel operation standards and departmental procedures
  • Methods of payment accepted by the Company (cash handling staff only)
  • Current Licensing regulations (Food and Beverage Service department only)

To adhere to the company’s policies and procedures for quality, environment and food safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any other related field
  • Previous experience working as a Payroll Officer at least 2 years. Experience in a hotel will be consider as an advantage
  • Excellent Knowledge of English Language
  • Strong communication and organizational Skills
  • Advance mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with payroll software
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Familiarity with state labor laws
  • Ability to prepare and present financial reports
