POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Host, Entertainment will use movement, gesture and body language to portray a character, story,
situation or abstract concept to an audience, usually to the accompaniment of music. This typically
involves interpreting the work of a choreographer, although it may sometimes require improvisation.
The Lead Host, Entertainment will also assist Stage & Events Choreographer in any duty related to rehearsals of choreographies, scheduling of the weekly and monthly programme and researching and ordering for props and costumes related to the shows.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keeps fit and strong through regular exercise, proper diet, and enough sleep
- Shows up on time and preparing well for auditions, rehearsals, photoshoots, promotional events,
- as well as shows
- Follows the instructions of the choreographer and practicing required dance routines
- Sings, acts, and performs other related duties if required
- Conducts research on different dance styles and techniques
- Understands personal limitations and abilities and communicating these to the choreographer
- Collaborates with other dancers and instructors to modify steps, routines, and formations
- Maintains good relationships with fellow team members, the instructor, and senior staff
- Works long hours to perfect routines and being available before and after shows for meet -and greets
- and photo opportunities
- Attends events to expand skillset and network with others
- Prepare, update, and maintain monthly rosters; implement schedule adjustments; communicate changes; and monitor accurate execution of schedules.
- Act as the liaison between the choreographer, dancers, HR, and technical teams while ensuring clear and timely communication of schedules, rehearsals, and updates.
- Prepare rehearsal materials; ensure spaces and equipment are ready; lead or supervise rehearsals in the choreographer’s absence; and maintain structure, discipline, and artistic direction.
- Place and manage orders through agents; prepare orders according to choreographer instructions and dancer measurements; track deliveries; receive and organize items; and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor costume and footwear condition; assist communication with designers for new creations; coordinate repairs, replacements, alterations, and cleaning; and ensure costumes are performance-ready.
- Build and maintain a structured show library; upload and organize music and video files on shared drives; and ensure proper naming, filing systems, and backups.
- Coordinate additional dancers for special projects; communicate schedules, requirements, and logistics; assist with arrival and on-site coordination; monitor schedules; and support payment processes.
- Assist backstage during performances; ensure dancers are punctual and performance-ready; and help manage quick changes and on-site needs.
- Maintain records of schedules, rehearsals, and dancer participation; and provide regular updates and reports to the choreographer.
- Resolve last-minute issues such as schedule conflicts, absences, or costume problems while adapting quickly to changes and supporting artistic decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• Degree in fine arts or similar may be advantageous
Experience
• Formal training and extensive dance experience
