M&S Cyprus is looking for an experienced and customer-focused Store Manager to lead the overall performance and daily operation of its retail store in Nicosia (M&S Acropolis). The successful candidate will combine commercial judgement with hands-on leadership and a passion for excellent customer service.

The Role

The Store Manager has overall accountability for the effective management and running of the store, including sales performance, customer experience, team leadership, operational efficiency, health and safety, compliance and loss prevention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the store and ensure it is consistently ready to trade and aligned with company standards.
  • Deliver sales, profitability and cost-control targets by monitoring performance and taking timely corrective action.
  • Manage staffing coverage, attendance, shift planning, holidays, days off, overtime and accurate administrative records.
  • Lead, coach and develop the store team, setting clear expectations and promoting accountability, teamwork and excellent service.
  • Ensure a high-quality customer experience across all store areas and resolve customer queries and complaints professionally.
  • Work closely with the Store Commercial Manager to maximise sales opportunities, merchandise presentation and promotional execution.
  • Oversee stockroom procedures, stock accuracy, stocktake preparation and compliance with stock-control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, evacuation, first-aid, security, cash-control and loss-prevention procedures.
  • Coordinate effectively with Retail Operations, Human Resources, Commercial, Marketing, Maintenance and Loss Prevention.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous retail management experience, preferably in a high-volume or multi-department store environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs, including sales, profitability, conversion rate, average basket value and staff productivity.
  • Strong organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Good understanding of stock control, cash handling, loss prevention and health and safety requirements.
  • Good knowledge of Greek or/and English language
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant retail systems.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays according to retail requirements.
