MSC Shipmanagement Limited is the world’s leading ship management company and continues to expand its fleet and global operations. As part of this ongoing growth, we are constantly seeking to strengthen our teams. Currently, we are recruiting Insurance Officer to join our Safety Department.

The Insurance Officer is responsible for monitoring, supporting, and improving the implementation of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and internal standards, and handling matters related to insurance coverage, claims, and incident reporting.

This role supports a safe, efficient, and compliant operation both ashore and onboard vessels.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Manager/Deputy Manager on the performance of the QSEEMS and on any need for improvement, changes.

  • Remaining involved with various ISO Standard Compliance

  • MACN – ‘SAY NO CAMPAIGN - SUEZ CANAL / INDIAN PORTS & UKRAINIAN PORTS / NIGERIA’ to prepare a spreadsheet of the vessels ETA for each Port while record keeping if the vessels have given representations

  • To prepare the Monthly Representations spreadsheet recording the number of cigarettes given by eachvessel to each Port

  • Update and follow up of the QSEEMS procedures in Amos2

  • The follow up of SDR’s collect the Tech 06 from the vessels, preparation of the D/N and corresponding with the agents for the recovery of the damage

  • Assisting in compiling and analysing of the data collected for all the CIC campaigns

  • Monitoring and recording familiarization of the Office staff with revisions to QSSEMS.

  • Any other duties assigned by the Department Manager / management

Required Skills & Knowledge:

Claims Handling Experience and P&I exposure will be an asset.

  • Planning and Organizational skills.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills.

  • Analytical skills.

  • Reporting writing skills.

  • Knowledge of QSEEMS within assigned duties & responsibilities.

  • Sufficient basic knowledge of International & National regulations & requirements within assigned duties & responsibilities.

  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office and specific software in use within Department/Company).

  • Excellent English language, both verbal and written.

  • Keeping abreast with developments related to own role, duties & responsibilities.

  • Acquiring any other duties assigned by the management.
