On behalf of a professional services firm based in Nicosia, we are looking for a Tax Associate to support the delivery of tax engagements, including preparing filings, assisting with planning and advisory work, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards. You will work closely with colleagues and clients, gaining valuable experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist tax managers and senior associates in providing direct tax advisory and consultation services.
  • Support the development and implementation of effective tax strategies.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify tax-saving opportunities and mitigate tax risks.
  • Prepare and review various tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, trust).
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely submission of assigned tax filings.
  • Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to help maintain compliance.
  • Support client relationships by delivering responsive, high-quality service.
  • Address client tax concerns and help communicate complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet client expectations and firm goals.
  • Maintain organised documentation and workpapers for client engagements.
  • Participate in internal training and professional development initiatives.
  • Follow firm policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned by the management from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in tax preparation and compliance is preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
