Centre of Active Citizens for Sustainable Development (CitizensACT) is an established NGO that promotes active citizenship, sustainable development and social innovation while empowering, connecting and engaging all citizens regardless of their age, gender, colour, language, or abilities in community-based learning activities. Its vision is to contribute towards building resilient, inclusive and democratic societies that follow the common EU values of respect, equality and solidarity. It runs the LEARNING HUB PROGRAMME (awarded by the Pact for Skills Initiative of the European Commission) whereas the ECO-LIVING LAB in its premises is fully-equipped for experiential learning related to sustainable living and includes solar panels, vertical gardening, 3D printers with recyclable material, compost bins etc. Currently CitizensACT participates in Erasmus+, CERV and AMIF projects. It acts also as an Associate Partner in CoVE, Blueprint and Alliances projects.

CitizensACT is seeking to hire an ambitious EU Project Manager to join a team of diverse young professionals, working in an energetic and supportive environment where he/she will be inspired, challenged and rewarded!

The EU Project Manager will be required to:

  • Implement, manage and coordinate EU-funded research projects

  • Conduct literature and fieldwork research (interviews, survey research, focus groups etc.), prepare reports and/or develop content in various forms (e.g. training material) ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery

  • Organise and participate in F2F and virtual training, seminars, webinars, workshops and other activities

  • Manage communication with project stakeholders, consortium partners and internal teams

  • Prepare and deliver presentations/ speeches

  • Contribute to the preparation of grant applications, tenders and research proposals under various programmes/calls e.g. Erasmus+, Capacity Building in Youth, AMIF, CERV, Horizon, Creative Europe

  • Represent CitizensACT in local and international events, meetings and conferences (extensive travelling is required)

  • Assist in the promotion of the organisation and the expansion of its network

For this position, CitizensACT is searching for motivated individuals with:

  • Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills as well as adaptability skills

  • Flexible time schedule due to travelling abroad

  • Excellent knowledge of English and Greek (both written and oral)

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Environmental or climate related Studies, Environmental and Energy Sciences, Geography, Biology, Geology, Education for Sustainable Development, ESG studies or any other related field

Additional Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in any of the above fields

  • Previous experience in a similar position related to the implementation of research projects and ESG policies

  • Previous experience in proposal writing (e.g. Erasmus+, Alliances of Innovation, Capacity Building, Horizon etc.)

Other information:

  • The position currently available is open for full-time engagement on-site

  • The EU Project Manager will refer to the Head of the EU Unit
