The Import/Export Customs Agent is responsible for processing all customs requirements for Bird Aviation MRO. This role focuses on ensuring import and export activities comply with relevant customs regulations and laws, and that all documentation and reporting are completed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process all import and export documentation in line with customs regulations and laws.
• Use the Customs THESEAS Portal to transact all required information.
• Process customs formalities for “In Transit (IMA)” and “Temporary Import (T1)” cargo.
• Calculate taxes, tariffs, and duties on shipments and organise payments accordingly (in advance if necessary).
• Maintain and archive all customs documentation files for a period of 7 years.

Additional duties

1. Provide full support to project customers for incoming and outgoing shipments.
2. Categorise reasons for import (e.g., parking, maintenance) and the duration of each work pack, and update THESEAS accordingly.
3. Monitor non-EU imports to determine the carbon footprint of incoming material and record the appropriate HS code and quantity in the Cyprus Environmental Department Portal (CBAM).
4. Transfer reports through CBAM on a tri-monthly basis via the portal.
5. Maintain an electronic copy of the CBAM report in the Bird Aviation archive.
6. Remain flexible to respond to seasonal and ad hoc needs, including completing tasks outside regular working hours when required.

Qualification requirements

• Fluency in English and Greek (verbal and written).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in customs clearance and/or logistics.
• IT literate.
• Experience with ALKYM or AMOS ERP systems is considered an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Adaptable and able to work in a multicultural team.
