Farmakas Water is looking for a dynamic, results-driven Assistant Manager to oversee and coordinate day-to-day operations across the full business cycle, from production and quality control through to sales, logistics, and financial accounts.
In this role, you will be a key operational leader, supporting efficiency, compliance, and growth across departments, while helping the senior management team meet strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1) Production Management
- Supervise the water production process and ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor production schedules to meet demand and minimise downtime.
- Coordinate with the production team on maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations at all times.
- Track and report on production output, waste, and efficiency metrics.
2) Sales and Customer Relations
- Support and help drive the sales strategy to achieve revenue targets across retail, wholesale, and direct delivery channels.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, distributors, and suppliers.
- Monitor sales performance and prepare regular reports for senior management.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to market expansion efforts.
- Manage customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
3) Logistics and Distribution
- Plan and oversee the distribution and delivery of water products to customers and retail partners.
- Manage the vehicle fleet, driver scheduling, and route optimisation.
- Liaise with third-party logistics providers where required.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate inventory replenishment.
- Ensure accurate and timely dispatch records and delivery documentation.
4) Accounts and Financial Management
- Oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures across departments and flag variances to senior management.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and cash flow statements.
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements.
5) General Management and Administration
- Manage and motivate a cross-functional team, providing guidance and performance reviews.
- Develop and implement operational policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for senior management.
- Handle procurement of raw materials, packaging, and consumables.
- Act as a point of contact for regulatory authorities, suppliers, and stakeholders in the absence of the General Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an operations, management, or supervisory role, ideally within FMCG, food and beverage, or manufacturing industries.
- Proven experience managing multiple departments or functions simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting and financial reporting principles.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution management is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and food safety regulations is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with ERP or accounting software is a plus.
- Effective communication skills in Greek and English, written and spoken.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
