We are seeking a Junior Backend Software Developer to join our team, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems. You will work on real projects, collaborate closely with senior developers, product managers, and frontend teams, and gain hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Git, SQL databases, and Docker/Kubernetes, while building high-quality software and learning modern technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and consume RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members
• Debug, test, and troubleshoot backend services
• Work with databases to design and optimize data models
• Assist with performance, security, and scalability improvements
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend services
• Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Basic to intermediate Java programming skills and experience with Spring Boot
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and databases (SQL/NoSQL)
• Knowledge of Git version control and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
• Experience with Spring Security, Docker/Kubernetes, microservices, or automated testing is a plus
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is an advantage
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
• Excellent command of English and Greek
