Chief Financial Officer, Nicosia – CFO/01/23

As a member of the senior team, the CFO will lead and manage all actions related to financial activities and the financial strategy of the company, and advice regarding existing or new opportunities for business growth. The CFO will lead the accounting team and be responsible for their development in terms of skills and knowledge along with mentoring the team to identify potential talents within the organization.

As a CFO you will report directly to the General Manager and, when required, to the board of directors, and be in communication and coordination with all departments and will be actively involved in all financial aspects, such as budgeting and forecasting for those departments.

Position’s duties and responsibilities

• Analyze financial data to reach concrete conclusions and offer financial strategy recommendations and shareholder reports to the GM and as required to the board.
• Be actively involved in setting up and managing budgeting, financial reports, end of month closings and management accounts.
• Review financial reports and determine cost reduction methods and long-term organizational strategies to manage cost and calculate potential risks.
• Suggest investment strategies taking into consideration current cashflow and liquidity risks, while planning and ensuring that cashflow is appropriate for the organizational needs and current operation.
• Preparation and analysis of financial statements and profit and loss reports to drive financial planning and forecasting reports.
• Thorough comparison of sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses to ensure that any necessary adjustments to future projections are taken into consideration.
• Oversee ageing and accurate, on time supplier and other payments while maintaining and managing vendor relationships both locally and international.
• Directly represent the company and establish communication channels with banks, financial partners, auditors or investors regarding company assets, loans, and other investments, to ensure that capital structure is in place.
• Lead the implementation of the ERP system and take initiative for customizations and automations are in place according to current company needs to provide accurate reporting data.
• Ensure full legal compliance according to current legislation for VAT, VIES and current company policies.
• Coordinate preparation of external audit material and is responsible for the audit process at the end of the financial year.
• Provide accurate data to the Operations team in regard to key metrics and develop planning for next steps or reforecast of current targets.
• In depth understanding of the business metrics and economic trends. Organizational Communication and Team Management:
• Be a key member of the executive team and interact with the Board of Directors where needed.
• As a CFO, you will manage a team of accountants along with the execution of payroll for the company.
• You will be responsible for mentoring and developing 4 members of your team and manage work allocation and trainings to build effectiveness and efficiency.
• Coach other members of the organization in enhancing their understanding of financial reports or profit and loss data.

• Minimum 7 years of experience with at least 2 years in the role of Finance Manager/CFO.
• Degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Acquiring ACCA or ACA qualification
• Fluency in English both verbal and written.
• Experience in accounting software (any ERP systems)
• Excellent skills in MS office.
• Working experience in IRFS16.
• Experience in managing financial systems and financial principles, auditing, and taxation.
