On behalf of our client, a well-established surveying, loss adjusting and technical consultancy company, we are seeking to recruit a Civil Engineer – Loss Surveyor / Loss Adjuster to be based in Nicosia or Limassol.

Job Duties

Reporting to the Senior Loss Adjuster, Claims Manager and Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the independent investigation, assessment and reporting of insured losses on behalf of insurers, reinsurers, brokers and other stakeholders. The role combines technical engineering expertise, field inspections, claims assessment and professional report writing, and will include:

• Attending loss locations across Cyprus to inspect and assess damage to property, machinery, equipment and goods.
• Investigating the cause and circumstances of losses and assessing the extent and value of damage.
• Reviewing insurance policies and relevant documentation to assess coverage, liability and indemnity.
• Collecting and analysing supporting evidence, including statements, invoices, repair estimates, photographs and technical reports.
• Quantifying losses, taking into consideration market values, depreciation, repair or replacement costs and applicable policy terms.
• Preparing clear, accurate and impartial interim and final loss reports, including findings, conclusions and recommendations.
• Liaising professionally with insured parties, claimants, insurers, brokers, contractors, legal representatives and other experts involved in the claim.
• Coordinating with engineers, technicians, forensic specialists and other professionals where required.
• Providing technical opinions and recommendations in relation to claims, liability, settlement values and risk improvement.
• Managing multiple assignments while ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Managing a diverse range of assignments, including property damage, machinery and equipment losses, liability, business interruption, marine claims, pre-risk and condition surveys, and PML assessments.

The role involves regular fieldwork and site inspections throughout Cyprus, with occasional travel and flexibility in working hours where required by the nature or urgency of a claim.

Qualifications

• University degree or professional qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in any field.
• Fluency in Greek and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook).
