Role overview

As a Planner, you will carry out all pre-input, input, and post-input planning and technical records tasks for each assigned aircraft. You will issue work orders and work packages to the Maintenance department, collect and review maintenance data, enable corrections as required, and verify documentation. You will also process Technical Records collation for Bird Aviation Part 145 MRO and for each of the Customers.

Key duties and responsibilities
  • Manage each assigned aircraft from initial Customer contact through post-input records dispatch, including work package (WP) review, creation and amendments; creating an Input Project Plan; monitoring technical paperwork; performing Dirty Fingerprint (DFP) review and ensuring corrections are completed; working the WP across multiple maintenance software platforms (including ALKYM and AMOS); monitoring manhours as per the contract; and finalizing, scanning, and dispatching the WP to the customer.
  • Liaise daily with Production teams, Shift Managers, and Customer Representatives.
  • Issue work orders for routine cards as per customer request and for defects found during normal Maintenance.
  • Perform and record production analysis, considering critical tasks, human factors, duplicate inspections, EWIS, CDCCL, and customer references; issue a general work order and include all job cards.
  • Convert customer work order requirements into work orders and forward them to Line/Base Maintenance sections, as per MOE 2.13.6.1. Forward job files to the Base Maintenance Manager and Line Maintenance Manager.
  • Issue work orders when requested and in accordance with the Company’s capabilities.
  • Issue work orders for investigations, rectifications, and defects.
  • Coordinate with the Materials department to ensure required materials for planned inputs are available when needed.
  • Collect completed work orders and ensure they are reviewed as per the Technical Procedure Manual; ensure any required corrections are performed by engineers prior to CRS.
  • Compile all documents at the end of the Maintenance Check.
  • Monitor all documents handed over to the Customer during the Maintenance Check for proper return.
  • Ensure the work package is closed before issuance of CRS, including rectifying findings raised by Customers in the records.
  • Assist the Production Planning Supervisor in their duties.
  • Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the Production Planning Supervisor or the Planning Manager.
Qualification requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Organizations (Part 145) processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel; MS Project is desirable.
  • Preferred experience using Alkym and/or AMOS is desirable; full training will be given.
