Job Title: Technician A - Electrician

Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Director of Technical Services

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION

To operate, control, monitor, and record overall electrical equipment such as the main incoming distribution board, LVMDB, individual floor DBs, including those in the fire pumps room, cold water distribution, sump-pit sewerage pumps, and all other electrical equipment throughout the hotel property. The role also ensures that all electrical systems and essential hotel equipment are maintained in excellent working condition.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Inspect and diagnose malfunctioning tools, equipment, electrical systems, apparatus, and components.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Use testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Test batteries in generators, emergency lighting, and other systems.
• Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and applicable National Electrical Code and local regulations.
• Respond to repair requests and perform preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and appliances.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies.
• Ensure electrical panels, distribution systems, and power backup systems are functioning properly.
• Monitor and record daily electrical utility consumption and submit reports to the Engineering Coordinator.
• Perform and document routine preventive maintenance tasks.
• Conduct daily checks and maintain records of electrical consumption in both hotel and commercial areas.
• Assist the Engineering Coordinator with daily inventory activities, particularly for electrical equipment.
• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
• Fabricate and assemble structural and functional components of refrigeration systems using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Drill holes and install mounting brackets and hangers on floors and walls.
• Insulate shells and cabinets of systems.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, complete required safety training, and properly store flammable materials.
• Estimate, order, collect, deliver, and install materials and supplies required to maintain equipment in good working condition.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management.

  • Hotel Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Hotel operational standards and departmental procedures.
  • Methods of payment accepted by the company (cash handling staff only).
  • Current licensing regulations (Food & Beverage Service department only).
• Adhere to the company's policies and procedures relating to quality, environmental management, and food safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position within the hotel industry.
• Good command of the English language.
• Strong knowledge of hotel electrical systems and services.
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Strong communication skills.
