Role overview

As an ACCA Trainee Auditor, you will support audit engagements by carrying out assigned work in an organised and timely manner, while building your understanding of audit planning and completion.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop a basic understanding of the planning and completion sections.
  • Perform audits of less complex and low-risk areas, as instructed by the team manager and agreed at the planning stage, within the allocated time budget.
  • Understand the objectives and procedures of assigned work before starting.
  • Carry out and document assigned work in an organised and timely manner, with the minimum possible errors.
  • Learn from mistakes to avoid repeating them.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements to be audited by a team you are not a member of, or assist in reviewing client-provided financial statements by performing casting, ensuring comparative figures align with the prior year signed financial statements, and checking consistency of disclosures and accounting policies before first review by assistant managers or managers (depending on complexity and reviewer level).
  • Complete performance evaluation forms through self-assessment and arrange discussions with the reviewer.
Requirements
  • School leaving certificate with an average graduation mark of at least 18/20.
  • University degree with a minimum grade of 2:1 or equivalent, preferably with an accounting/audit background.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Fluency in Greek and English, both verbal and written.
  • Ambition and commitment to start a career as a professional accountant.
  • Pleasant personality, professionalism, and ability to work under strict reporting deadlines.
