Position: Host/Hostess (Permanent)

Stademos Hotels Ltd, a leading group in the Cyprus hospitality industry, is seeking to recruit a Host/Hostess for the 5-star Elysium Hotel in Paphos.

Job Purpose

The Host/Hostess ensures that reception and telephone operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering the highest possible service standards to all guests (internal and external). The role is also expected to be proactive in maintaining and/or improving department profitability in line with hotel policies, procedures, and standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Follow hotel service standards, monitor performance, and strive for continuous improvement
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and friendly image with guests and employees
  • Keep the work station well organised and neat
  • Ensure the restaurant logbook is updated daily and signed
  • Carry out actions, duties, and opening and closing tasks according to pre-set procedures
  • Welcome customers and escort them correctly and promptly, in a courteous manner
  • Ensure customer requests are handled correctly and quickly, and report to superiors immediately if assistance is needed
  • Inform superiors about incidents, observations, and developments that affect guests, hotel activities, and the role
  • Attend training sessions and seminars as required
  • Attend and contribute to departmental communication meetings and briefings

Qualifications
  1. Graduate of a secondary school of Hotel Management or Marketing
  2. Very good knowledge of English (other languages are an additional advantage)
  3. One year of experience in similar work
  4. Software knowledge of Micros and POS
  5. Pleasant and friendly personality
  6. Very good communication skills
